You’ll develop your understanding of consumer behaviour, integrated marketing communications, social marketing and brand management. Learn from experienced and dedicated marketing professionals and take on practical work-related projects in association with industry to prepare you for a job when you graduate. Choose the Business Internship course as an elective to work with real clients and gain valuable industry experience and contacts.

Our degree allows you to work in any industry, anywhere in the world in fields such as product development, advertising and sales, public relations and marketing research. Our graduates have handled marketing for major clients such as Holden, Carlton Dry, Victoria Bitter and Crown Lager.

Program requirements

In order to graduate you must:

  • Complete 7 required introductory level (100 coded) courses.
  • Complete 9 required advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • Complete 8 elective courses, 5 must be advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • (Optional) Use electives to complete a minor (4 courses) to supplement the required major.
  • Complete no more than 10 introductory level (100 coded) courses, including the core course.
  • Complete no more than 6 courses from the School of Communication, School of Social Sciences or Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering.
  • Register any selected Majors or Minors with your Faculty.
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses).
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods.
  • As part of your USC program, you may apply to Study Overseas to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider. It is advisable to contact your Faculty Program Advisor to discuss timing and course issues.
