This program is fast becoming a must to stay at the top of your field.

Our Master of Education is a flexible degree that provides professional educators with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge within the field of education and grow their education research capabilities. The program is distinguished by its strong foundation in educational practice, offering a professional project in education or guided research in areas of individual and professional interest.

The program is delivered by a team of dedicated experts and is offered face to face on campus, online from anywhere or a combination of these two modes of study. You can undertake specialisations for those seeking credentials in Curriculum Leadership, TESOL, Steiner Education*, Health Education, Educational Leadership and Education Research. You may choose to exit the Master’s program after completing four courses, and may be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Steiner Education or a Graduate Certificate in Education Research. If you wish to meet the requirements to proceed at a later stage to the Doctor of Philosophy program, you should complete the Education Research Specialisation within the Master of Education.

The Master of Education is aimed at educators currently working in the field and does not qualify graduates for teacher registration. It does provide innovative knowledge in education to advance your career in early childhood, primary and secondary teaching, education administration, workplace training, vocational education, nurse, paramedics and police education.

Admission requirements

Candidates for the award of Master of Education are normally required to hold:

  • an appropriate 4-year bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) qualification in the education discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent.

Students that have a 3-year bachelor degree in the education discipline or a bachelor degree qualification in a discipline other than education, entry to the Master of Education can be through the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Education, or similar qualification. Students admitted to the program on the basis of completion of the Graduate Certificate in Education will not be eligible for credit.
