With a flexible degree in business and science you can pursue a wide variety of career paths.

This program enables you to apply business perspectives to research or applied science ventures. You combine complementary specialisations such as marketing and public health, or management and sport and exercise science, to develop a wide skill base. Business studies include management, marketing, accounting, business law and ethics, informatics, and specialist studies in a chosen major. Science courses are drawn from any of the majors / minors offered by the faculty.

Majors

Business majors: applied marketing; human resource management; information systems; international business; management; marketing research; tourism, leisure and event management.

Science and health majors: biomedical science; biotechnology; clinical measurement; environmental health; environmental science; health promotion; public health; sport and exercise science; sustainability.

Program requirements

In order to graduate you must:

  • Complete 8 required courses and either a 7-course major or electives from the School of Business.
  • Complete 4 required courses, an 8-course major and 3 electives from the Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering.
  • Complete no more than 6 introductory level courses in the 15 Science, Health, Education and Engineering courses in a combined program.
  • Register your selected majors or minors with Student Administration.
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses).
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods.
  • As part of your USC program, you may apply to participate in the Global Opportunities (GO) Program to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider. It is advisable to contact your Program Advisor to discuss timing and course issues.
