Program overview

A Bachelor of Science gives you the flexibility to choose from a wide range of specialisations, allowing you to design a degree to suit your interests and career ambition.

You can undertake science-based studies entirely within the Faculty of Science, Health and Education or incorporate a limited number of courses from the faculties of Arts and Social Sciences or Business.

You can enrol in first year science courses covering biology, chemistry, environment and health, biodiversity, cell metabolism, research design and data analysis, physics, as well as the two core University courses.

Introductory courses

Plus select a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 introductory (100 level) courses from the Faculty of Science Health and Education. These courses must not include NUR or EDU coded courses

Advanced courses

Select a major from the Faculty of Science, Health and Education
Plus select 2 advanced courses from the Faculty of Science, Health and Education. These must not include NUR or EDU coded courses

Elective courses

Select a maximum of 6 introductory or advanced courses from any faculty (Science, Health and Education, Arts and Social Sciences or Business)

Course substitution: the GO (Global Opportunities) Program

As part of your USC program, you may apply to participate in the GO Program to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider

Program requirements and notes

  1. A minimum of 14 advanced (200 or 300 level) courses must be chosen, 5 of which must be 300 level science (not coded NUR or EDU) courses.
  2. A maximum of 6 courses from outside the Faculty of Science, Health and Education (72 units), other than the core courses, may be included in the BSc.
