This program gives you the skills and confidence to lead and manage your business team. Learn what it takes to be a leader, you’ll explore key issues facing business managers such as strategy, ethics, leadership and change management. You’ll build your knowledge in strategic planning, decision making, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Develop your problem-solving and communication capabilities to establish good working environments for your staff. Our program is taught by industry professionals with years of management experience in private, government and non-profit organisations.

You’ll have the option to take on a business internship where you can apply your management skills to a real business, gain valuable experience and make industry contacts.

If you see your management career taking you overseas try a semester of study first as part of our Study Overseas program. Management is a great base for a career in business and a perfect fit for further studies in accounting, IT, marketing or international business.

Program requirements

In order to graduate you must:

  • Complete 7 required introductory level (100 coded) courses.
  • Complete 9 required advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • Complete 8 elective courses, 5 must be advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • (Optional) Use electives to complete a minor (4 courses) to supplement the required major.
  • Complete no more than 10 introductory level (100 coded) courses, including the core course.
  • Complete no more than 6 courses from the School of Communication, School of Social Sciences or Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering.
  • Register any selected Majors or Minors with the Faculty of Arts and Business.
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses).
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods.
  • As part of your USC program, you may apply to Study Overseas to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider. It is advisable to contact your Faculty Program Advisor to discuss timing and course issues.
