UniSC has implemented a water refill campus initiative to provide free drinking water to students, staff, and visitors on all campuses.
Here are the key points:
- No Single-Use Plastic Bottles: Since 2015, UniSC has stopped selling commercial bottled water and single-use plastic water bottles on campus.
- Refill Stations: Free chilled and filtered water refill stations are available across all UniSC campuses, including locations like the Library, sports facilities, and various buildings.
- Encouraging Refillable Bottles: UniSC encourages everyone to bring their own refillable bottles, which can be purchased on campus or from local retailers.
- Environmental Impact: This initiative helps prevent around 40,000 plastic water bottles from going to landfill each year, supporting UniSC’s sustainability goals.
This initiative aligns with UniSC’s commitment to sustainability and reducing waste, making it easier for the campus community to stay hydrated while being environmentally responsible.
