Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical and Electronic)

Harness the power of a changing world. Electrical and electronic Engineering Technologists play a role in almost every aspect of modern life, from smartphones to renewable energy systems powering cities. Learn to design, develop and maintain systems of all shapes and sizes. As an Engineering Technologist, you will attain the skills to: focus on interactions with the system, modify and adapt established engineering practices and advance engineering technology.

In this program you will:

  • Study fundamentals of engineering, including applied maths, physics, statics, and systems design
  • Develop in-depth skills in electrical and electronic engineering theory, standards, and practice
  • Complete specialist courses in circuit design and analysis, electrical power systems (including renewable energy), robotics and automation, computer programming and more
  • Get hands-on experience through 40 days of work experience
  • Understand social, economic and environmental dimensions of engineering, and the importance of sustainable development
  • Develop advanced problem solving, communication and project management skills

Program requirements
In order to graduate you must:
  • Successfully complete 288 units as outlined in the Program Structure
  • Complete the equivalent of 40 days of suitable work experience. Students must meet all costs associated with the acquisition of practical experience to satisfy this requirement
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses) and following the recommended study sequence
  • The unit value of all courses is 12 units unless otherwise specified
  • It is each students responsibility to enroll correctly according to your course requisites, program rules and requirements and be aware of the academic calendar dates
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods
