Sport is a popular part of Australian culture, and the sporting industry is a fast-growing business area.
This program provides a practical blend of university courses with specific sports industry accredited modules. You can complement your studies with other university qualifications such as sports marketing and management or health promotion. In first year, you learn the principles of human body function and movement. In second and third year, learning extends to how the human body responds to physical activity and you choose a sports industry pathway. Several Australian Sports Commission coaching certificates are incorporated throughout the degree.

Professional recognition
Depending on courses selected: graduates may become members of Fitness Australia; Sports Medicine Australia; Sports Management Association of Australia and New Zealand.

Program requirements
In order to graduate you must:
- Complete no more than 10 introductory courses, including core courses.
- Complete a minimum of 4 courses that must be sport industry accredited modules. Industry modules must be pre-approved by the Program Leader before completion.
- Complete a minimum of 14 advanced courses.
- Use Electives to increase curriculum knowledge in a key learning area.
Program notes
- Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses).
- Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods.
- As part of your USC program, you may apply to participate in the Global Opportunities (GO) Program to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider. It is advisable to contact your Program Advisor to discuss timing and course issues.

^ Students who have not successfully completed the prerequisite courses of LFS100 or LFS103 (or equivalent) must seek permission from the Course Coordinator to enrol in this course. Students who have not met the prerequisite requirements, or who need to refresh their knowledge of biology and chemistry are advised to enrol in ENB126 , which is conducted prior to the commencement of Semester 2.
