Highlights
  • Place your research in context and develop a research question
  • Engage with a collaborative learning community
  • Generate leadership and change in your professional field

Learn to engage with curriculum development.

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Learning offers practising educators, those seeking employment, and educators returning to the workforce, a series of learning opportunities to engage in a critical orientation to professional learning. It brings educators together in a collaborative learning community to enhance their leadership and engagement in curriculum development, evaluation, teaching, learning and assessment. To further your studies, the Graduate Certificate articulates into the Master of Professional Learning, and you may apply the units completed to the higher award.

The Master of Professional Learning invites professional educators—teachers, training officers and educational leaders in schools, training organisations, TAFE and higher education institutions—to engage in enquiry-based professional learning within their field. The program is a combination of coursework and field-based research, leading to the development of deep professional knowledge and capacities in an area of interest. It requires rigorous investigation into the literature, policy and practices in the specific area of study. You must also propose, implement and report on a research project with a view to generating leadership, change and/or reconstruction of existing policies and/or professional practices within your chosen field.

Courses are delivered in a blended learning mode, and content is responsive to the needs and learning styles of the cohort. These programs use a project-based action-learning framework, and the learning outcomes enrich your knowledge, understanding and capacities in professional learning.
