Program overview
In this program, you will develop advanced Indonesian language skills alongside a solid foundation in business, with a focus on international business.
In addition to courses in Indonesian, you will study business issues, cross-cultural differences and their impact on business, politics and government relations, international diplomacy and trade, e-business, and international finance. There are opportunities to undertake applied industry projects with real businesses, or to travel overseas to find local distributers for business products and services.
The international business component has a strong focus on Asia, and studying Indonesian as part of the program provides a complementary skill designed to give you an advantage in the regional business realm.
Indonesian language ability may broaden career prospects to fields such as finance, tourism, hospitality, teaching, trade, foreign affairs and international development.
The program also allows in-country Indonesian language studies, as approved by the language coordinator at USC. In these in-country courses, you undertake intensive study at an Indonesian university, gaining formal language instruction alongside first-hand cultural experience.
The program structure allows you to earn two degrees in a shorter amount of time than if you were to study the programs separately, and you will receive two testamurs (degree certificates) on completion.
The University also offers a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business (Japanese and International Business), for those interested in attaining advanced Japanese language skills.
