Program overview

The Bachelor of Nutrition is a three-year program that has been designed to complement the existing four-year Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (BND). The Bachelor of Nutrition provides an alternative pathway for those less suitable for, or less interested in, the clinical practice component of the BND.

In the Bachelor of Nutrition, you may select from a range of electives that will assist with your future career path. These include exercise science, work integrated learning, public health, health promotion and nutrition research.

The Bachelor of Nutrition provides a pathway if you wish to undertake further research in this field through Honours and higher degree by research programs. This will strengthen research in the field of human nutrition at USC and complement research in the allied health area.

The program will also provide an opportunity for you to undertake further study to specialise in a professional area, including dietetics (dependent on professional practice places), food science and technology, health promotion or public health, or exercise and sports science.
