Program overview
The ICT industry is experiencing enormous demand for employees, offering excellent career paths and salary prospects, and the BICT prepares students for a career in this area. The degree covers popular areas such as security, programming and databases, and assumes no prior knowledge of ICT. Offering specialisations in a number of ICT areas, the structure of the degree allows students to sample from a range of different courses before committing to their specialised area.
Students learn every phase of developing and architecting a software system, from initial planning and design through to actual programming, team management and associated business issues. The creation, management and deployment of databases are also covered, along with networking, telecommunications and integration of diverse systems.
The program has a practical focus, with many of the learning tasks comprising activities such as constructing networks, building databases and creating software packages. Small class sizes are offered so that high levels of student support can be offered.
You can apply to undertake first-year courses in this program at the USC USC Noosa Centre. Please note that the option to study at Noosa is not available to international students.
