Student Handbook, Semester 2, 2008: Journalism

The following qualification provides credit into the following programs:
Bachelor of Arts
Bachelor of Arts (Design and Communication)
Bachelor of Communication
Bachelor of Journalism

Students may also be eligible for credit towards other degree programs.

JSchool Diploma of Journalism graduates receive credit for:

  • CMN102 communication Theory and Practice
  • CMN110 Australian Media Industries: Introduction to Communication Studies
  • COR199 Core courses x 2
  • INT140 An Introduction to Australian Politics: The Makings of a Republic?

Plus 3 of the following, depending on internships and research projects completed at JSchool (to be assessed post-admission):

  • CMN227 News Rounds
  • CMN235 News Writing: Print and Broadcast
  • CMN237 Writing for the Web
  • CMN242 Production Workshop (Journalism)
  • CMN272 Industry Research Project (Journalism)
