Program overview

This program is designed for teachers in middle years of schooling or those in non-physics senior areas of study who wish to expand their knowledge and understanding to the area of physics and develop expertise in response to the new Queensland Studies Authority syllabus in physics that is underpinned by a contextual approach to pedagogy.

This program includes three courses in physics providing teachers with sufficient knowledge depth in this area and a capping course in contextual science that allows teachers to consolidate their understanding of physics and to be responsive to the new syllabus.

Admission requirements

Students must be practising teachers and hold an undergraduate science-based degree. Such a degree must not have a major or minor in physics. International students need to refer to the English language requirements.

Option 1:
No prior knowledge of physics is required

Plus select 1 course from:

Option 2:
Some prior knowledge of physics is required as approved by the program coordinator
