In this degree you will:

  • Learn advanced theoretical concepts and perspectives and engage in critical debates in the field.
  • Be exposed to advanced research training methods through coursework and the design and implementation of your own research project.
  • Contribute meaningfully to scholarship in the criminology and justice discipline through an original dissertation.
  • Develop the core skills sought after by employers, including critical thinking and analysis, problem-solving and project management, and the ability to work collaboratively, ethically and under minimal supervision to produce high-quality work.

Admission requirements:^
  • Completion of a three-year bachelor’s degree in criminology and justice or related field, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 5 (across 200/300 level courses)
  • Program Coordinator approval

^These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee entry. Importantly, enrolment is contingent upon the University's capacity to provide appropriate supervision in the intended field of research.
