Gain an understanding of how the human body works and what happens when diseases, infections and clinical disorders occur.

Your study combines traditional biomedical disciplines such as physiology, anatomy, pathophysiology, immunology and biochemistry, with specific competency-based skills in areas such as pharmacology, nutrition, biotechnology, and microbial diseases. You gain the scientific knowledge and skills to work in applied biomedical industries and biomedical research. The program provides appropriate education for entry into postgraduate medical courses.

Career opportunities

Biomedical research and education, biotechnology,  cardiac diagnostics, clinical measurement, clinical trials management, communicable disease control, drug registration, medical sales and pharmaceuticals, medical microbiology.

Professional recognition

Graduates may become members of the Australian Society for Biotechnology; Australian Society for Immunology; Australian Society for Microbiology; Australian Society for Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
