Student Handbook, Semester 1, 2010: Journalism

Major

For a major in Journalism, students must successfully complete 8 courses:

CMN130 Japanese F
CMN213 Trade and Finance in a Global Economy
CMN214 Managing Global Logistics
CMN227 Accounting for Business
CMN228 Economics for Business
CMN235 Strategic Management
CMN237 Making Public Policy in a Global Era
CMN272 Politics of the USA

Students are required to apply to be accepted to undertake a journalism major. The prerequisite for a journalism major is CMN102 (or CMN100 ) plus INT140 . In addition, students will be required to attend a selection interview. Acceptance into a Journalism major may not be confirmed to students until the end of their second year of full-time study or equivalent. Students not accepted to undertake a Journalism major, may be eligible for a Communication Studies major.
