Program overview
Sport is a part of Australian culture, so it is not surprising that the sport industry is one of our fastest growing business areas. The Bachelor of Sport and Industry’s unique combination of a university degree with an accredited sports industry qualification aims to make graduates more employable within this sector, with specialised skills in a specific sport.
As a student in this program, you will study a series of university courses, coupled with specific sports industry-accredited modules. You can choose to pursue a career in a range of different sport industries such as golf, surfing, surf lifesaving, and sailing. The industry modules are nationally accredited within that specific sport.
The specifically designed university courses in the program are built on the foundation courses in sport and exercise science that provide you with understanding and knowledge of human movement. In the second and third years of the program, this understanding is extended to how the human body responds to physical activity.
There are also opportunities to incorporate other areas of study in the program by choosing elective courses in areas such as sports marketing and management, or health promotion.
Professional recognition
Depending on courses selected, graduates are eligible to seek membership within key organisations such as Fitness Australia, Sports Medicine Australia, and the Sports Management Association of Australia and New Zealand.
