Program overview
The Graduate Diploma in Health Promotion is based on a socio-ecological model of health and explores contemporary health promotion at individual, group, organisation, community and population levels. Core study concepts include foundations and principles of health promotion, assessment of health needs, the planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs, training and development, and research in health care.
Teaching, learning and assessment items are designed to develop theoretical knowledge and understanding through the completion of practical and creative tasks. Opportunities exist for students to further their education experience by becoming involved in ongoing university-based health promotion programs.
This program gives you the flexibility to study courses on campus, online or a mixture of two delivery modes for specific courses within the Graduate Diploma of Health Promotion. Four of the eight courses within this program, are offered for delivery via the online mode, as well as the traditional on campus delivery. You can even change study modes at any time during your program. For example, if you’re studying on campus and find you’re getting busier at work, you have the ability to swap to the online program for specific courses. The courses available online are PUB712 , PUB721 , PUB722 and PUB731 .
