Program overview
The Bachelor of Nutrition is a three-year program that has been designed to complement the existing four-year Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (BND). The Bachelor of Nutrition provides an alternative pathway for those less suitable for, or less interested in, the clinical practice component of the BND. Students in the Bachelor of Nutrition may select from a range of electives that will assist with their future career path. These include exercise science, work integrated learning, public health, health promotion and nutrition research
The Bachelor of Nutrition also provides a pathway for those wishing to undertake further research in this field through Honours and higher degree by research programs. This will strengthen research in the field of human nutrition at USC and complement research in the allied health area. This program will also provide an opportunity for graduates to undertake further study to specialise in a professional area, including dietetics (dependent on professional practice places), food science and technology, health promotion or public health, or exercise and sports science.

Career opportunities
Career opportunities for nutrition graduates include work as a food scientist, public health officer, food industry, food and nutrition research, food service, health education, quality control and quality assurance, nutrition consultancy.
