Program Overview
The Diploma of Visual Arts-Fine Arts/Bachelor of Arts program gives you the opportunity to combine hands-on study in the visual arts at Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE (CSIT) with a specialisation of your choice at the University of the Sunshine Coast. You have the flexibility to design a program to suit your own interests and career ambitions.
In the visual arts component of the program, you will study with industry-recognised artists and have access to world-class facilities while gaining practical experience, including the opportunity to exhibit work. You may build upon your visual art skills by selecting computer-based art and design as a major study area in the Bachelor of Arts.
Alternatively, study in visual arts may be combined with one of 16 other major study areas, including journalism, public relations, communication studies, languages, creative writing, sociology, and Australian and cultural studies.
Career Opportunities
Knowledge and skills acquired through the Diploma of Visual Arts-Fine Arts/Bachelor of Arts are transferable across many sectors such as government, education, arts, media, commerce and industry. Opportunities may include community services, computer graphics, ecotourism, graphic design, heritage industry, illustration, journalism, marketing, media, photography, photojournalism, professional writing, public relations, and publishing.
Teaching ModeThere are different teaching modes between the CSIT Diploma modules and the University's Bachelor of Arts courses.
