Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education is designed to invite qualified teachers across all sectors to engage in intensive study to gain credit for beginning qualifications in Inclusive Education. The courses aim to platform beginning and experienced teachers with high quality programs linked to their professional and career needs.

This program is designed to address the needs of teachers and other professionals involved in the education of students with learning difficulties particularly in the area of literacy and mathematics. Teachers who wish to continue their studies in this area should enrol in the Master of Professional Learning, which includes mandatory supervised workplace learning experiences as well as a research project conducted in an appropriate educational site.

Students will be asked to complete 4 courses. Each course will see the confluence of educational research, university teaching and workplace learning. Courses will be offered in face-to-face intensive mode enhanced by a series of online learning modules. Assessment and teaching will be built around the specific learning outcomes, using a flexible approach to cater for the diversity of student needs. Winter and Summer Schools and Intensive Teaching Weekends may be adopted to respond to client needs.

Admission Requirements

A student entering the Graduate Certificate program will normally be required to hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution. Entry by non-graduates who have extensive relevant industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean, Faculty of Science, Health and Education.
