The University of the Sunshine Coast has now been accredited by the world’s longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools – AACSB International.
Only six percent of the world’s business schools have the accreditation, which recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning.
UniSC Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Helen Bartlett, said the accreditation was a fantastic step forwards as the university continues to build strong industry connections in Australia and overseas.
“This is recognition of our commitment to quality education and equipping our students and graduates with the skills, knowledge and mindsets needed to excel in a rapidly changing and globally connected world,” Professor Bartlett said.
“Global business accreditation is important as UniSC builds on our international links and reputation that ensure UniSC Business graduates have even greater opportunities to secure employment here and overseas.”
AACSB executive vice president and chief accreditation officer Stephanie M. Bryant said the accreditation was “synonymous with the highest standards of quality.”
“The University of the Sunshine Coast’s commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole,” she said.
“Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of the University of the Sunshine Coast to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally.
“We congratulate University of the Sunshine Coast and Dean Lorelle Frazer on earning accreditation and applaud the entire team—including the administration, faculty, staff, and students—for their roles in earning this respected honor,” she said.
Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators, and businesses worldwide.
AACSB-accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.
