It is a time when Year 10 students are making major decisions about their senior studies and future career goals – so USC is opening its doors to help them in their search for answers.

More than 2,500 students from schools across Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast and Moreton Bay will converge on USC campuses this week to take part in a series of interactive lectures and campus tours as part of Experience USC.

USC Pro-Vice Chancellor of Engagement Professor Joanne Scott said Experience USC offered students the chance to explore different study areas and career options as they finalised their senior subjects and defined their plans for life after high school.

“Year 10 is a key decision-making time, when schools work with students and their parents and carers to develop plans for their senior education and training, and it is hard to know all the answers,” she said.

“Experience USC will provide students with the chance to really think about their interests and abilities and how this can help to clarify their study and career goals,” she said.

“It also can help to develop their understanding of how their high school studies and subjects will support their journey to university and create opportunities to future career pathways.

“We want them to explore their options, gain some insights into university life and then leave feeling inspired, informed and motivated about their future.”
