‘Smart clothes’ on agenda for Moreton Minds talk

Wearable technology is changing the way we live, work and play, says the host of an upcoming online talk on the topic.

USC Computer Science Lecturer Dr Erica Mealy is set to present a webinar exploring the changing landscape of wearable technology on Wednesday 27 May, from 7pm to 7.30pm.

Dr Mealy, who is based at the USC Moreton Bay campus, said the online event was an opportunity for people to ask questions about how devices that are near, on, or in our bodies are enabling new ways of working, relating and socialising.

“From Fitbits to bionic prostheses to smart clothes, technology is pervading all aspects of our environment,” she said.

Moreton Minds is a partnership between Moreton Bay Region Libraries and USC Australia.

USC opened Australia's newest university campus at Petrie in the heart of Moreton Bay earlier this year.
