Sports Hall of Fame to welcome new inductee

The Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame will hold its 2016 Induction Ceremony at the University of the Sunshine Coast tomorrow evening (Wednesday 7 December).

One Hall of Fame inductee and three Certificate of Merit winners will be celebrated for their outstanding involvement and contributions to sport on the Sunshine Coast.

Previous inductees have included Kirsten Pike, Peta Rogerson, Mal Meninga, Ashley Noffke, Emma Shears, Chris Vermeulen, Marayke Jonkers, Josh Constable, Kira Llewellyn, Zane Holmes, Brad Stokes, Pat Rafter, Grant Kenny, Lisa Curry, Ian Baker Finch and Darren Obah.

The ceremony will be held at USC’s Health and Sport Centre, adjacent the University’s Sports Stadium. Guests will arrive from 6.30pm for the 7pm ceremony.

Guest speaker will be Sunshine Coast Lightning coach and former New Zealand netball player Noeline Taurua.

The Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame Awards are sponsored by USC, Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Council, 92.7 Mix FM, and the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing.
