What we will do
Develop a diversity-capable campus culture with each person valued for their contribution
Systematically review policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency with and reflection of the principles of equity, social justice, and universal design and compatibility with human rights
Strengthen our leadership engagement and accountability for diversity and inclusion outcomes
Support useful and meaningful partnerships between USC and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations, groups and communities located across the University’s geographic footprint
Build diversity, inclusion and equity principles into induction and onboarding processes
Build capability through awareness and skill development opportunities to create inclusive work and learning environments
How will we know we are making a difference?
Staff and students are aware of USC values and know their rights and responsibilities in relation to equity, diversity and inclusion
Equity, social justice and universal design principles are reflected in any new policies, procedures and guidelines, and embedded into all scheduled policy reviews
Communities within our footprint and beyond are aware that USC is committed to inclusive values, processes and principles and agree to uphold our principles in partnership activities
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols and authorities are identified and practiced

Demonstrate an organisational commitment to inclusion in decision making and priority setting
Share good practice, experiences and lessons learned through cross-divisional and external collaborations of diversity and inclusion
Develop policies in close consultation with underrepresented members of our community and involving all relevant departments and teams, and use the latest evidence, research and good practice to identify and inform their design
Facilitate engagement that demonstrates the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through free, prior and informed consent
