Healthy Ageing Hub

UniSC's Healthy Ageing Hub is an emerging centre with a focus on regional health, gerontology, caring for older people and ageing related education and research in the Gympie region. Through research and innovation in the delivery of aged care, we offer new solutions to pressing issues to transform health, communities and lives.

Building age-friendly communities

UniSC partners with government and industry in health, aged and community care sectors to tackle the new study and research priorities emerging as we all live longer.

We offer new opportunities for study and professional development and initiate research and innovation in the delivery of aged care. This includes:

  • building knowledge through academic and student research projects
  • developing and attracting funding for projects
  • continuing professional development, seminars and workshops
  • academic guest speakers for events, workshops and staff training

Contact us to discuss how we can tailor our services to meet your needs.

Hands-on experience

You'll have a unique opportunity to apply theory to practice as a student at the Healthy Ageing Hub.

Hands-on training improves quality of care and helps your readiness to practice. This helps you transition to employment with in-demand skills.

Multi-purpose facilities

Our study and shared community spaces between staff, aged care residents and students are available to support teaching, research and community needs.
