Workshop details

Workshop 1: Conquer the challenges to start your studies

Learn how to overcome any challenges or fears that may be stopping you from achieving your study goals. You will get honest and helpful information about tertiary study and the support available for you to make a confident decision. You will also hear from other students who have been in your shoes and can share their insights. As part of this workshop, you'll complete a short, one-on-one consultation with one of our staff to help you plan what's next.

This workshop will cover:

  • How to overcome any fears or challenges to starting uni
  • Options for financing your studies
  • How to balance your time and choose your study mode
  • How to connect with support services
  • Pathways and entry requirements
  • A short-one-on-one consultation to help you map your next steps
Workshop 2: Define my direction

With your future goals in mind, explore what options you have for further study based on where you are now. We'll give you the tools you need to help you choose your career path.

This workshop will cover:

  • Careers assessment tool — a tool to help you discover your interests, values and skills
  • Choosing and road-testing your career — how to make an informed decision
Workshop 3: Upskill for study

Discover the essential skills and resources you need to prepare for further study. You will learn how academic skills can help you achieve your goals and develop the skills that employers are looking for. You will also learn how to research and reference your sources.

This workshop will cover:

  • Why academic skills are important
  • How to turn the formal and informal learning abilities you’ve gained from work and life experience into academic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
  • Resources on study strategies, researching and referencing

Please note: These workshops cannot be used towards gaining admission into a UniSC program. This program is only for domestic students. For further information on UniSC's bridging program, visit Tertiary Preparation Pathway. This program is not intended for existing UniSC students. If you are a current student and need study skills assistance, please attend an academic skills workshop.
