The School has an established history in the region, extending from the north of Brisbane at Petrie through the Sippy Downs campus at the Sunshine Coast to Gympie and further north to Hervey Bay and our Fraser Coast campus. Many public and independent schools throughout this large region closely align to the University by providing mentoring for our pre-service teachers, many community organisations partner with us to develop and deliver quality programs and research outcomes and our outreach connections encourage student access to tertiary learning.

Research
Education is a diverse interdisciplinary field. The SETA investigates Education across a wide range of contexts (including home, early childhood, compulsory school years, senior secondary, higher education, professional education, community, transitional and adult learning). We are committed to building a collaborative and inclusive community of research scholars and practitioners. We generate and explore new knowledge about the political, social, environmental, cultural, historical, philosophical and psychological aspects of Education theory, policy, pedagogy and practice. We particularly contribute our work to FOR codes 1302 (Curriculum and Pedagogy) and 1303 (Specialist Studies in Education).

Indigenous and Transcultural Research CentreThe School hosts the new Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre at USC. The Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre (ITRC) proudly partners with Indigenous, migrant, refugee and culturally diverse communities to deliver impactful research nationally and internationally that seeks to improve the lives and wellbeing of First Nations and culturally diverse peoples in Australia and around the globe.
