Program overview

The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) enables you to gain in-depth business knowledge alongside advanced skills in accounting. The demand for qualified accountants has risen sharply in recent years, with growing career opportunities in both the public and private business sectors.

In the accounting major, you will study financial accounting, business finance, law of business associations, company accounting, management accounting, taxation law and practice, contemporary accounting issues, and auditing and professional practice.

A second business major will develop advanced skills in one of the following areas:

A series of business and commerce foundation courses provide fundamental knowledge in the disciplines of accounting, economics, information and communications technology, management, and marketing.

Other more advanced courses provide knowledge in business law and ethics, business research methods, and strategic management. A capstone course develops in-depth understanding in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.

The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) allows you to earn two degrees in a shorter amount of time than if you were to study the programs separately. You will receive two testamurs (degree certificates) on completion.
