Leanda Garvie

Leanda Garvie joined the School of Business and Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast in February 2017.

Following an early career in science in diverse fields including animal ecology, horticulture research and molecular biology, Leanda gained qualifications and pursued a career in accounting. As an accountant, Leanda has worked for a range of businesses on the Sunshine Coast including a large multinational company involved in horticulture research and production. Leanda is passionate about educational digital resources and has supported the development of countless digital resources as an educational consultant for digital providers including Education Services Australia and ClickView.

Having recently completed an interdisciplinary PhD in collaboration with UniSC's Forest Research Institute, Leanda looks forward to applying her foundational knowledge and skills in accounting, finance and economics to solving real-world problems associated with forest wood products, carbon mitigation, climate change accounting and the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.

As well, Leanda continues to work alongside here SBCI accounting and business colleagues, teaching and course coordinating accounting and business courses, and engaging in research projects of similar interest.
