Marketing professionals offer advice to students

An impressive line-up of local marketing professionals will speak at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s inaugural Student Marketing Forum and Networking Event on Monday 31 October.

This event, from 9am to noon, will feature five presentations, a question and answer time, and networking opportunities for about 30 USC marketing students.

Among the presenters are dtb! Advertising managing director Michael Molloy and Italic Creative founder and managing director Luke Humble.

USC Lecturer in Marketing Dr Wendy Spinks said the event would boost the relationship between local businesses and the University community by enabling students to talk one-on-one with marketing professionals.

“The networking event will assist USC in preparing our students for the workplace,” she said. “Some students might even end up with job offers from this event.

“We’re also holding a ‘best business card’ competition to encourage students to design their own business cards and use them while networking.”
