Orientation for USC Fraser Coast’s first students

The first group of students to enrol at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s new Fraser Coast campus will be welcomed with a fun and festive orientation day on Friday 19 February.

The Orientation to USC Fraser Coast event will feature a packed program of live music, workshops and fun activities for students to prepare for Semester 1 and mingle with their new classmates.

Hundreds are expected to attend the event, which will start at 10am and include market stalls, a photo booth, candle-making, a ‘Class of 2016’ photo, a free lunch and a performance by local musician Sam Addison.

Some current USC students will also provide insights into university life at a special forum where they will share tips on successfully juggling work, family and study commitments.

USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said he was looking forward to welcoming students to USC’s newest campus.

“Orientation to USC Fraser Coast is a great way for students to learn a bit more about university life, meet their classmates and teachers and familiarise themselves with the campus,” Professor Hill said.

“Students from the region are also encouraged to attend Orientation at our Sippy Downs campus on 23-26 February.”

High school students involved in USC’s award-winning Headstart program will have separate orientation activities at the Fraser Coast campus on Thursday 18 February.
